Mode S MSSR M10S

MSSR M10S is a Mode-S (up to level 5) monopulse secondary surveillance radar of a new generation designed and manufactured by NRPL Group. MSSR M10S is highly flexible, high performance turnkey solution easily adaptable to customer needs.

MSSR M10S is intended to be used for air traffic control for the civil authorities as an information source about aircraft location and movement parameters. The system complies with all the ICAO and Eurocontrol requirements and is built using the latest, best known technological improvements over this type of systems. It can be used either stand-alone or co-mounted with a primary surveillance radar (PSR).

The system has a very open and flexible architecture, configurable according to the client requirements and the needs of the different sites, such as its communication architecture and maintenance network.

Radar capabilities certified by CAA of the Czech Republic - a member of Eurocontrol.

MSSR M10S features fully solid-state, high-modular and reliable design with low maintenance cost.

Multi-channel ADS-B station can be easily integrated into MSSR rack.

All important system units are doubled and in the event of malfunction the backup channel is automatically employed.

Output data comes in ASTERIX format, however, upon request, other formats can be implemented.

Remote control and monitoring system allows unattended operation of the radar. Maintenance and repair requirements are reduced to minimum, thus ensuring readiness of the system at any time.

Interrogator

The M10S system supports the following functionality:

  •  Mode S capability up to level 5;
  •  Interrogation, detection and acquisition of Modes 1,2, 3/A, C, B and D;
  •  Mode S Addressed Elementary Surveillance;
  •  Mode S Addressed Enhanced Surveillance;
  •  Standard length communication protocols;
  •  Extended length communication transactions;
  •  Aircraft Identification Protocol.

Fully redundant interrogator is housed in one off-the-shelf 19" rack. This compact solution provides easy co-locating of primary and secondary radar systems.

Control and Monitoring System (CMS)

The CMS is composed of the following parts: Local Control and Monitoring System (LCMS) and Remote Control and Monitoring System (RCMS).

The local system is located at the radar site while the remote control and monitoring system can be installed for example at an air traffic control tower, air traffic control centre etc. The intersystem communication can take place along a variety of lines (wire or optical).

All devices and units of the radar system are equipped with an independent diagnostic Built-In Test Equipment allowing to continuously check and monitor function of the system and, in the event of malfunction, to automatically reconfigure the system (employing backup units).

The CMS of MSSR M10S offers user friendly graphic environment with ease of presenting radar data and conditions.
